This educational activity is designed for US-based hematologists, medical oncologists, hematopathologists, other healthcare professionals interested in the therapeutic management of hematologic malignancies.
Dramatic progress has been made in our understanding of the clinical, biological and molecular heterogeneity of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Despite this, treatment challenges remain, particularly in patients with high-risk disease. This Whiteboard Update helps address the question of how to best integrate the latest knowledge into clinical practice to help guide treatment choices for patients with high-risk CLL. Topics of discussion include examinations of the mechanisms of action of BCR signaling inhibitors, anti-CD20 agents, and anti-apoptotic BCL2 inhibitors.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Analyze the clinical trial data regarding response rates, risks, and benefits for new and emerging agents for CLL
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with CLL incorporating new agents based on genetic and molecular abnormalities, benefits and risks, comorbidities, and patient profiles
