Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward nurse practitioners and physician assistants practicing in the primary care setting. Physicians and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of patients in the primary care setting may also participate.
Program Overview
The 4th Annual Advanced Practice Collaborative (APC) was developed to bring nurse practitioners and physician assistants recent evidence to treat some of the most common and challenging conditions in the primary care setting. The conference blends expert presentations and panel discussions across essential clinical areas to enhance your understanding, knowledge, and competence regarding the prevention and management of chronic conditions, illnesses, and associated comorbidities. This educational activity is an archive of the live virtual conference held on September 10 and 11, 2021.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Review updates to guidelines and recommendations for the screening and evaluation of patients presenting with illnesses commonly encountered in primary care
- Discuss the potential impact of recent clinical trial data on clinical decision-making and the care of patients with a variety of illnesses encountered in primary care
- Identify strategies to recognize and manage treatment-related adverse events in primary care
- Assess challenges faced by primary care practitioners in the care of patients with a wide range of illnesses
- Identify multidisciplinary team–based counseling strategies to optimize patient care
