Activity Overview
This activity is a video-based program in which 2 experts discuss the etiology and management of multiple sclerosis (MS). In this activity, the faculty focus on the pathophysiology of MS as it relates to Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK), as well as clinical trial data on the efficacy and safety of novel BTK inhibitors in MS treatment. Their discussion is enriched with the use of video animations to illustrate MS pathophysiology, as well as the mechanism of action of BTK inhibitors in MS. The use of these animated segments helps make somewhat complicated subject matter more easily understood. This unique format is designed to help clinicians identify best practices in the diagnosis and management of MS and to improve outcomes for their patients with this disease.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Discuss the inflammatory pathophysiology of MS as related to BTK
- Describe the safety and efficacy of BTK inhibitors in the management of patients with relapsed-remitting and progressive forms of MS
- Incorporate recent and emerging data into case-based treatment strategies for MS based on patient-specific needs
