Program Overview

In this activity, expert faculty Jatinder Bhatia, MD, provides an overview on updates and best practices in tailored feeding strategies for preterm infants. This activity features an interview-based narrative with Dr. Bhatia, as well as incorporated audio clips and additional resources, for a more in-depth look on best practices in preterm infant nutrition.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will demonstrate:

  • Outline composition differences in enriched, fortified, and supplemented formulas and their impact on growth and development in preterm infants.
  • Compare and contrast nutritional differences between preterm discharge and standard term formulas, and formulate strategies to transition preterm infants to term formulas, when appropriate.
  • Implement strategies to educate parents and guardians regarding nutrition in preterm infants.

Instructions for Participation and Credit

This activity will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To receive credit, participants are required to complete the pretest, view the online activity, and complete the posttest and evaluation. To receive credit, 60% must be achieved on the posttest. A certificate will be immediately available. There is no fee to participate in the activity or for the generation of the certificate.
